Top MVC framework...

Lately I've been working on a large internet project, that was not much complicated in the field of "ideology" but it has to be extremely stable, fast and efficient. Also it has to be easy to modifie and rebuild or use for another "edition" (well... the project is all about the kind of beauty competition).

As I've never ever used it in my programming work I've decided to switch to MVC. I had some experiences in documenting the code written with MVC so it is quite clear to me that such a code meets all my requirements.

So, what is MVC? The acronyme stands for Model-View-Controller. Basically we can say that it's the programming model that is based over kind of "layers" and it allows to completely separate application logic from engine and look.

Model - is where you define the relation between your databases and their behavior.
View - is the layer which is all about user interface
Controller - is the main engine of an application, which depends on defined models and outputs all its data through View.

Sound great, isn't it? Well... in fact it's very efficient and logical model, but for someone who has never used it - it might be quite hard to quickly write some good (and "strict-standard") code from scratch. This is where proper framework comes.

So... I've been searching for a while, but there's so many solutions that I really couldn't decide which one would be the best for me. Anyway, after reading a lot of testimonials and examining a lot of documentation of different frameworks I've decided to use CakePHP. It's perfect for my needs and first of all is well documented and extremely easy to learn! I've found that writing code with the usage of CakePHP is much faster than coding "by hand" from scratch. Also the applications are sometimes faster and more stable.

Ok. Ready to rock? Try CakePHP framework.

The Great Silence...

Nothing has happend on my blog for quite a long time, so If anyone reads it at all I'd like to apologize. I was so deep into my daily job tasks that I've even no "energy" to turn on my home PC and write anything.

As we're now finishing another big project I'll have more time so I'm going to go back to my "streaming how-to" series, which eventually might become an e-book.

I've got also a few php related issues that I'd like to deal with here on this blog, so I think I'm kindda "back to virtual life" :)

I am who I am...

I posted here some time ago about Terra Naomi. Nothing more to say, just another video... Uncensored version of "Up here". It makes me cry, today, after the weird night with the girl, that I really care about...

about adamsky

don't I look like a complete jerk here? yeah... I'm not a geek at all although I work in an IT industry for over 12 years now as a programmer and sys admin. There's a lot more things for us to do in this beautiful life than dreaming of becoming Borg...
